Join the After Sales team at Johnston Tractors

Johnston Tractors are currently recruiting to fill new After Sales Customer Support positions at both our Appleby and Carlisle branches:

Workshop Foreman – Appleby Branch

We are currently recruiting a Workshop Foreman to join the Aftersales team at our Appleby branch.

You may already have experience in a similar role, or you could be a Service Technician looking to take your first steps in a supervisory role, either way, we would like to hear from you.

This will be a hands-on role, so you will already be a skilled Service Technician capable of carrying out repairs, servicing and PDI work, on new and used tractors and agricultural machinery or construction plant. You should be capable and confident with laptop diagnostic methods, in addition to traditional mechanical, electrical and hydraulic diagnostic and repair techniques.

You will be looking for the next challenge in your career – to supervise, organise and motivate a small team and manage the day to day activities of the workshop with support from the Group Service Manager to help you develop in this role.

This is a customer facing role, so excellent communication skills will be a key requirement, as are attention to detail and confidence using IT systems.

We supply industry leading brands, and manufacturer training will be provided to ensure you are equipped to provide the industry leading service level our customers expect.

A full driving licence will be essential and a trailer licence would be of benefit.

The successful applicant will be rewarded with a salary which reflects the high skill level we require, a company vehicle and a company stakeholder pension scheme.

Unsure about the role or have a question? If you would like an informal and confidential discussion about this role, please call David Hartland on 07720 968629.

Applications by e-mail to david.hartland@johnstontractors.com will be treated in the strictest of confidence. You should include an up to date CV and covering letter explaining why you feel you would be the right person for this role.

Closing date 30th April 2017

Service Apprentice – Carlisle and/or Appleby Branch

We are currently recruiting a Service Apprentice to work and learn at our Carlisle and/or Appleby branch.

We supply industry leading brands of Agricultural and Construction machinery and we are continually training the Service Technicians of the future who will prepare, repair and maintain these machines for our customers.

You will spend an introductory/probationary period working at the dealership to adjust to being in the workplace environment, learn basic skills and familiarise yourself with the products we sell. You will also learn how the dealership operates to support our customers.

Following this introduction, you will attend technical training college on a block release basis with the remaining time spent working at the dealership. The combination of technical college and workplace learning will lead to a level 3 qualification in Land Based Engineering.

Service Technician’s are hands on people, so practical skills will be a fundamental part of learning.

At the other end of the spectrum, advanced IT technology is increasingly commonplace in our industry, so IT literacy will be essential.

An understanding of agricultural machinery and its application in agriculture would be a benefit.

We are looking for highly motivated individuals with a desire to succeed.

GCSE’s in Maths, English and a Science a grade C or above will be needed.

We also welcome applications from people who are currently studying Land based Engineering but who have not already secured a position with an employer.
